2012 HALL Darwin Red Wine
Named for the town of Darwin, Australia, where Kathryn and Craig's small plane required an emergency landing. Once safely on the ground, the Halls toasted their well-being with an Aussie Shiraz/Cabernet blend and pledged to craft a similarly poignant wine in the Napa Valley.
|Varietal Composition||100% Syrah|
|Barrel Aging||20 Months in 60% New French Oak|
|Vineyard||Napa River Ranch|
|Vintage Notes||This wine embodies the dark, muscular, earthy interpretation of Syrah. This wine emanates aromas of coffee, bacon, grilled herbs, liquorice, smoked meats and barbeque. The palate confirms a big meaty character, concentrated with a rustic, minerally finish.|
