2013 HALL Coeur Cabernet Sauvignon
"...this wine has a perfumed nose of rose petals, red cherries, blackberry jam, roasted figs and cherry tomato...There are dense flavors of black cherries, creme de cassis, coffee grounds, blackberry jam and tar which expand beautifully across the palate."
Deep garnet in color and delicious from start to finish, the aromas open with the essence of jammy blackberries and opulent dark plum there are oak influences of nutmeg, cinnamon and clove. The palate is supple, rich and voluptuous with flavors of black currant and plum and has a lengthy, fruity finish.
In creating this blend, we realized the great potential of our vineyard sourcing within St. Helena. Unique for its gravelly, low vigor soils and a cooling influence of Pacific breezes from the north, the fruit from this region produces a stylistically lush, aromatic wine with a dense core of dark briary fruit.
|Varietal Composition||94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot|
|Barrel Aging||22 Month in 55% New French Oak|
|Vintage Notes||Temperatures were moderate and slightly cooler in 2013, providing the opportunity to harvest according to our winemaker’s preference and not due to weather conditions. This vintage’s wines are extremely concentrated in their textural richness. They showcase massive personalities and should be extremely long lived.|
