Medium ruby in color, Coeur has intensity on the nose with ripe black plum, blackberry, brambly dark fruit and warm toast. On the palate, this wine offers rich, dark fruit, cacao nibs, wet stone rounded by dusty, structured tannins.

In creating this blend, we realized the great potential of our vineyard sourcing within St. Helena. Unique for its gravelly, low vigor soils and a cooling influence of Pacific breezes from the north, the fruit from this region produces a stylistically lush, aromatic wine with a dense core of dark briary fruit.

| Vintage Notes | The 2016 vintage marked the end of the drought years, although precipitation levels were still moderate to low. Near-perfect growing conditions continued throughout the summer with a few heat spikes that the valley is known for. Yields were a bit lower than normal, but the quality of the harvest was high. The resulting wines are rich and lush, with supple tannins and opulent, elegant finishes. Wines from 2016 are a fifth consecutive vintage of stellar Napa Valley wines. |
