Develop wines of intriguing tension, with round,
opulent blue fruit characters
Bright ruby in hue, this wine opens with beautiful floral aromas of violet and hints of lavender. Deep blue fruits, smoked paprika, and dried candy cap mushrooms are also present. Elegant and finessed on the palate, there is an intensity and energy driven by stem inclusion that supports mouth coating tannin for a beautiful balance. Flavors of dried bing cherry and sassafras mix with spicy oak notes that gives a lingering finish.
|Varietal Composition||100% Pinot Noir|
|Barrel Aging||10 Months in 45% New French Oak (François Freres)|
|Vintage Notes||The 2016 harvest was early, with slightly lower than normal yield, but exceptional fruit quality. After many years of drought, we experienced winter rains that helped alleviate the dry conditions that plagued us for the last four years. The entire ripening season enjoyed cooler than average days and nights. July and August were particularly temperate allowing for longer hang times, which ripened the grapes uniformly.|
