"Medium ruby-purple colored, the 2016 Pinot Noir The Corner’s springs from the glass with exuberant black cherry, black berries and wild blueberries scents with touches of lilacs, mocha and Chinese five spice plus a hint of powdered cinnamon. Full-bodied, rich and seductive in the mouth, it has a firm yet plush frame and just enough freshness, finishing long and spicy..."

This very effusive Pinot Noir has a brilliant garnet color with warm aromas of paprika, blueberry compote, dark cherry, lavendar, and dried mushrooms. Roasted stems bring a dense and focused quality to the mouthfeel. The palate is smooth with dark berry character, entwined with warm barrel oak and hints of wet stone. A sweet lingering finish is laced with baking spice.

This is a very unique vineyard from Anderson Valley, featuring steep hillsides combined with light gravelly soils that create optimal ripening conditions. The Corners is typically sourced from the upper elevation blocks, where small vines and berries produce a concentrated and opulent wine.

Vintage Notes | The 2016 harvest was early, with slightly lower than normal yield, but exceptional fruit quality. After many years of drought, we experienced winter rains that helped alleviate the dry conditions that plagued us the prior four years. The entire ripening season enjoyed cooler than average days and nights. July and August were particularly temperate allowing for longer hang times, which ripened the grapes uniformly. |
