2017 WALT La Brisa Pinot Noir
"The 2017 Pinot Noir La Brisa is medium to ruby-purple with a lovely nose of rose petal, tangerine peel and potpourri with spicy black and blue fruits at the core. Medium-bodied with a lovely silky texture, it offers intense, concentrated spicy fruit with soft framing tannins and juicy acidity on the finish..."

The 2017 La Brisa "... offers a first-rate bouquet of spice black cherries, wild strawberries, incense, forest floor, and spice. Rounded, nicely textured, balanced, and undeniably well-made, as well as delicious, it's ideal for readers looking for a high-quality Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir that offers fruit and texture."
Vibrant ruby red in color, La Brisa Pinot Noir opens with hints of earth, crushed rose petals, and red fruits laced with a wild character. Strong flavors of crushed raspberry, cola, freshly turned soil, and tobacco linger on the palate. The texture is rich and leads into a warm finish with balanced oak and fresh minerality.
This blend is predominately from our Bob’s Ranch Estate, with Gap’s Crown and Calesa vineyards completing the blend which features both Dijon and heritage clones. The resulting combination of diverse vineyard sites and clonal variation creates a complex wine with abundant fruit, making it a delicious Sonoma Coast blend.

The 2017 growing season began with significant rainfall, replenishing soils and reservoirs. A summer of gradual warmth indicated a textbook growing season until unpredictable spells of extreme heat throughout September created challenges for many vineyards. This slightly reduced yields, but great quality fruit. Cooling marine air arrived just in time to bring our vineyards to ideal harvesting conditions resulting in concentrated, rich, and dense wines.
