2020 WALT Gap's Crown Pinot Noir
Critic Review
This has nice juicy freshness, with a core of extroverted raspberry and red cherry fruit staying light on its feet, as subtle wood spice and red licorice hints peek through on the finish. A crowd-pleaser.
90 Points | JEB DUNNUCK, Audrey Frick
"The 2020 Pinot Noir Gap's Crown is aromatic of warming spice, wooded earth, and kirsch. The palate is tangy with red plum, incense, and cola."

from the Pacific Ocean.

Heavy fog and strong winds tempered by bright
afternoon sunshine.
Deep, vibrant garnet in color, this Pinot Noir offers effusive aromas of black cherry and muddled blackberry layered with wet stone and five-spice powder. The powerful, concentrated palate is deeply fruited, and beautifully focused with taut tannins and vibrant acidity. Spicy oak notes are echoed through the long finish.

Vintage Notes | The season started out with an unseasonably warm, dry winter. It wasn't until the end of March that cold, rainy weather arrived, and the mild spring gave the vines a strong, early start. Even with above normal temperatures throughout the summer and fall, we still experienced the marine influence that defines the limiting conditions of our premium Pinot Noir sites - cool morning fog and afternoon wind. This vintage produced great wines that are fresh, focused, and beautifully balanced. |
