2020 WALT Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Critic Review
"Rich and ripe on the nose, this appellation blend is bold with hearty and fresh aromas of black cherry and baked boysenberry. Smoothly polished tannins wrap around lovely flavors of cherry compote, star anise and mace."

Sandy Loam Soils
Cause vines to produce grapes with powerful varietal
character
Vibrant ruby in color, this wine's expressive aromas of dark plum, cherry, and strawberry are underscored by a note of loamy earth distinctive to the region. A fresh, lively structure complements the ripe fruit. Bold and charged with energy, the wine finishes with well-integrated oak toast and a hint of salinity.

Vintage Notes | The season started out with an unseasonably warm, dry winter. It wasn't until the end of March that cold, rainy weather arrived, and the mild spring gave the vines a strong, early start. Even with above normal temperatures throughout the summer and fall, we still experienced the marine influence that defines the limiting conditions of our premium Pinot Noir sites - cool morning fog and afternoon wind. This vintage produced great wines that are fresh, focused, and beautifully balanced. |
