Wine Spectator, Tim Fish
"A winning combination of zesty and vibrant elements, this Zinfandel offers handsomely layered black raspberry and cherry flavors highlighted by cracked pepper, mocha and a hint of licorice as it finishes with refined tannins."
92 Points | Wine Enthusiast, Jim Gordon
"Like dark-chocolate syrup over raspberries, this indulgent wine marries richness with tangy fruit flavors in a dessert-wine style. Either alone or with nutty, cheesy desserts, this wine will be a standout."
92 Points | Owen Bargreen
"The outstanding 2021 BACA ‘Home Base Zinfandel comes from this Dry Creek site, set on diverse soil types. Once on the nose this shows pretty red cherry candy with cigar box, exotic spices, blackberry jam and orange rind notes. The palate shows good power and underlying freshness, jam packed full of red and dark fruits, with silty soils."

Dry Creek AVA – Rudy's Vineyard & Mauritson Home Ranch
Home Base starts with fruit farmed by the pioneering Mauritson family. This Zinfandel was made from two vineyards on the eastern side of the valley with vine ages ranging from 40-70 years old. One of the oldest wine regions in California, Dry Creek Valley has been renowned for its Zinfandel since the 1880’s. Distinctive from most other growing regions in Sonoma county, the valley warms earlier in the day and reaches higher average temperatures, yet still drops dramatically in temperature at night. These conditions make for deliciously rich and weighty wine.
