2021 WALT Brown Ranch Pinot Noir
Critic Review
"The 2021 Pinot Noir WALT Brown Ranch comes from Carneros and is an outstanding effort, giving up lots of darker cherry and redcurrant fruits as well as some spicy, foresty, earthy nuances, medium body, terrific balance, and enough ripe tannins to keep it drinking nicely for a decade."

The aromas open to brooding black cherry, brown sugar, and dried herbs. A soft and supple entry leads to a densely concentrated mid-palate supported by warm flavors of cola and toasted oak. A hint of nutmeg spice adds an energizing lift to the finish.

Vintage Notes | The alluring 2021 vintage is remarkable for its low yields, which resulted in an extra degree of concentration in our wines. In a second year of drought, the vines grew quickly in the warm spring weather while our team judiciously managed watering block by block. By summer, the vines had set a lighter than average crop, and cooler weather in August allowed time for vineyard passes to finetune the fruit load and manage the canopy. After a smooth harvest season, we are excited about the flavor-packed 2021's. |
