2022 WALT Rosé of Pinot Noir
Critic Review
"Sourced from a range of Pinot Noir sites across California, the 2020 WALT Rose displays bright acidity with Mandarin orange zest, white peach and ripe strawberry flavors that mingle with plenty of minerals."

Saignée method
Keeping the juice on the grape skins for a short time to
obtain the perfect pink color before separating
the juice for the Rosé from the red wine.
California AVA
Sourced from a selection of premier Pinot Noir vineyards, our
Rosé comes from multiple appellations throughout California.
The wine is pale salmon in color with vivid aromas of strawberries and cream, fresh cut peaches, and rose petals. The silky elegance of the palate is balanced with crisp acidity and a hint of minerality.

Minerality
We produce our Rosé with a style of winemaking known as the "saignée" method. After crushing the grapes, we keep the juice on the grape skins for a short time to obtain the perfect pink color. The pink juice is then separated and fermented in tanks and barrels like a white wine.

Vintage Notes | Ample winter rain, followed by temperate and dry conditions through March gave us a good start to the vintage. The spring and summer months were consistent and warm, resulting in small but healthy canopies and balanced vines. Labor Day came with a curveball from Mother Nature in the form of a prolonged heat wave that accelerated harvest at many of our vineyard sites, followed immediately by much cooler weather and a bit of rain. This refreshing slow-down allowed the remaining grapes to hang a bit longer, yielding beautifully balanced fruit and polished tannin. Overall, the 2022 vintage is fresh with pure, concentrated flavors. |
