WALT "Hein Family Vineyard"
Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
This small, organically-farmed vineyard is found in the heart of what is called the “Deep End” of Anderson Valley. This area is much cooler than other parts of the region because of its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. The marine influence brings cool evenings and foggy mornings to create an ideal venue for growing elegant and intricate Pinot Noir. Rigorous farming practices limit the vineyard's yields to less than two tons of ideally ripened fruit per acre. Each vintage consistently delivers a signature profile of black cherry, cranberry, earth and fine-grained tannins.
The WALT “Hein Family Vineyard” Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is polished, sleek and graceful. We added 30% whole clusters to the fermentation tank to accentuate the fruit and add dimensions of texture. The wine abounds with violets, cherry, cranberry and spice. The palate offers an inviting grip which helps counterbalance the silky opulence of tannins. This wine will gain complexity and nuance for another 3-5 years.
