Michel Foch was born from a shared passion—Winemaker Mike Reynolds and Vintner Kathryn Hall, united by their dream to bring the magic of Champagne to their home in Napa Valley.
After growing up in her family’s Mendocino vineyards, Vintner Kathryn Hall spent years traveling the world but always found herself drawn back to France. After serving as U.S. Ambassador to Austria in 2001, she made a home on Avenue Foch in Paris—a place where Champagne was more than a drink; it was a way of life.
Mike Reynolds had long mastered the art of California sparkling wine. As the lead winemaker for Schramsberg for years, he crafted wines that danced on the palate. Over two decades ago, he became the founding winemaker of HALL Napa Valley, creating world-renowned Napa Valley Cabernets. Yet, he always wanted to explore the elegance, tradition, and history of wines from Champagne in France.
For over 20 years, Mike and Kathryn had worked side by side to craft spectacular California still wines. But they always dreamed of crafting a Champagne that married the soul of France with the spirit of California—a Champagne that was both timeless and new.
And so, Michel Foch was born. Named to honor Mike (Michel) and the Avenue (Foch), where Craig and Kathryn's Paris home for over 30 years is located, it is a tribute to their journey.
Sourced from the historic vineyards of Champagne, Michel Foch is crafted using centuries-old techniques to create a wine of finesse, precision, and depth. A bridge between two legendary wine regions, Michel Foch is more than Champagne—it is a story, a passion, and a celebration.
