The Sangiacomo Vineyard is a certified sustainable vineyard, first planted in 1969. The block we source from is entirely "Old Wente" field selection. The proximity to the Pacific Ocean and San Pablo Bay makes this site ideal for growing Chardonnay. Older vines produce small clusters that drive concentration and richness in the wine.

Vintage Notes | The season started out with an unseasonably warm, dry winter. It wasn't until the end of March that cold, rainy weather arrived, and the mild spring gave the vines a strong, early start. Even with above normal temperatures throughout the summer and fall, we still experienced the marine influence that defines the limiting conditions of our premium Pinot Noir sites - cool morning fog and afternoon wind. The resulting Chardonnay is irresistibly fresh, fruity and brimming with appeal. |
